RCS Vascular Access for Dialysis Course Dec 15th & 16th

The Royal College of Surgeons Vascular Access for Dialysis Course will be held on December 15th &16th.

The course is suitable for surgical trainees as well as consultants wanting to update knowledge and decision making.  It is delivered through interactive lectures, discussions and cadaveric surgery.

Trainee Training Day, March 8th, Birmingham

VASBI logoWe are proud to announce the first VASBI training day for clinical trainees on March 8th.  The programme is designed to be of interest to all specialties (radiology, nephrology, access surgeons etc) caring for patients on dialysis.

The Programme will include:

– Choosing HD, PD or conservative care

– Which vascular access for this patient?

– When to use central venous catheters

– What dialysis dose for this patient?

– What a radiologist can do for a patient on HD

– Managing nephrological emergencies

– Radiological and surgical strategies for access complications

The format will consist of lectures in the morning and interactive MDT in the afternoon.

The venue will be the Post Graduate Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham (9.15 registration).
